New BBC Hindi transmission at 1630 hrs via R.Nepal on 576 kHz

Effective 23rd June 2008 BBC Hindi Service has added another Hindi transmission at 1630-1700 hrs on 576 kHz (via R.Nepal) replacing BBC WS program in English. The programs mostly consists of a repeat of 1430-1500 hrs transmission b'cast earlier on the same day.

R.SINGAPORE INT'L English service last transmission on 31st July, 2008

Alokesh Gupta, New Delhi reports: Karamjit Kaur, Sr Station Administrative Executive at RSI English Service informed that Radio Singapore International will cease transmission from end July 2008, they are in the midst of winding down with last broadcast on 31st July 2008.

Effective 19th May VOA changes frequency for Asia in English:

This replaces 15185 kHz at 1400-1500 hrs and 13735 kHz at 1500-1600 hrs.

Myanmar Radio is back on the air

Victor Goonetilleke reports from Colombo: "I heard last afternoon(8th May) first broadcast at 0730 on 9730 and nothing after that till this morning 0030 s.on on 7185".

On the evening of 9th May noted 5985 kHz is also back on the air but s/off at 1430 hrs earlier than regular s/off time 1600 hrs.
